Lately, a few events have been taking place that give me hope for the future of our store (and of Starbucks). We performed a coffee tasting for ourselves to help a partner complete his passport. And for once in a long time I was able to pass on some knowledge of coffee to another fellow barista.
On top of all that, another barista challenged me to a cappuccino pour test. Who can make the perfect cap? For those that don’t work at the bux, a perfect cap is made when you steam the milk and free pour it into a cup allowing the milk to separate into equal parts of milk and foam. The picture shows that the other barista I was working with could make it closer to the middle line than I could. Mine was way off the first time around.
Overall, a great start to an early morning and it looks as if I will be practicing my cappuccino free pour.
A daydream is a meal at which images are eaten. Some of us are gourmets, some gourmands, and a good many take their images precooked out of a can and swallow them down whole, absent-mindedly and with little relish. One man's daydreaming is another man's day.

Huh? Another barista beat the all and powerful pHluid? No! What has the world come to? Still a pretty nice CAP buddy!
